Intumescent Fire and Smoke Downlighter Hoods
This product has two main types: the Intumescent Downlighter Cover (made from flexible, intumescent-coated glass cloth) and the Fire Cage (made from wire mesh containing intumescent sheet material). Each type has a variant that can house a transformer for low-voltage fittings. Both types have cable entry points on top and are ventilated, to prevent over-heating of the electrical fitting. The flexible covers can be fitted from below or above the ceiling, but the rigid fire cages have to be fitted from above.
Our intumescent downlighter covers and fire cages are indicated
for use in fire-rated and suspended ceilings, in order to contain fire
and maintain the ceiling's fire rating.
