Intumescent Fire Rated Pillows
These intumescent Pillows are made from a hard-wearing glass cloth, filled with a fireproof sponge and intumescent. There are two types available. Type P/S is a very soft, pliable pillow that enables awkward areas to be filled (for example, around cables, pipes, services, etc). Type P is a firm but flexible pillow that enables it to be fitted around services, but it can be fitted like a brick.
The pillows are used for packing into gaps around cables and pipes, and
over cable trays. They can be fitted into any size of opening, and they
give permanent or temporary fire protection and smoke sealing. The
pillows are equally suitable for computer rooms, "clean" rooms, and
sterile areas. They can also be used for overnight protection in areas
where work is in progress, as they can be fitted and removed very
easily.
This
product was included in a fire resistance test that employed the
general procedures and criteria of BS476 Part 22 (1987), and a fire
integrity of 128 minutes was achieved. (compressible type 240 minutes).
