Intumescent Pads

Envirograf’s intumescent pads have been designed for plastic and metal trunking. With their adhesive, you can affix them to the inside of the trunking.

They are suitable for multi-opening PVC trunking, with services passing between walls or ceilings.

The intumescent material in the pads expands when hot, which in turn seals the trunking to prevent fire spread.

Extra wires are hazardous when they are not wired or supported correctly. When combustion occurs, fire can spread rapidly. This product can form part of an electrical compartmentation system, to contain fires within trunking.

This product can be cut to size, as it is lightweight and flexible.

It comes in a range of sizes, ranging from 50mm x 25mm, to 375mm x 75mm.

Advantages of using intumescent pads

This product provides up to 3 hours fire protection on trunking which passes through fire barrier walls, floors or ceilings.

Maintenance can be carried out on the trunking with the pads installed, due to their slim profile.

Their installation is fast, due to the self adhesive.

They can protect any quantity of cables.

Installation

Trunking which is smaller than 100mm x 100mm, only use one intumescent pad per penetration.

Trunking which exceeds this size will require two intumescent pads per penetration.

When removing the yellow adhesive covering paper, ensure the adhesive behind it does not become contaminated with dust, dirt, etc. This is to ensure correct adhesion takes place.

Place the pad within the penetration area of the trunking.

Firmly press the pad against the inside of the trunking.
