Intumescent Pipe Collar by Envirograf
Intumescent fire collars are used on pipes passing through walls and barriers to help prevent / delay the spread of smoke and fire. In the event of a fire, the the fire collars ‘intumesce’ or expand, crushing plastic and thin metal pipes in order to prevent or delay smoke or fire spreading. When used on copper or steel pipes, the intumescent pipe collars act as a heat sink to dissipate heat away. The Envirograf intumescent fire collar is a hinged, two-part metal collar lined with intumescent material which expands in a fire. It has a quick-release pin to open the unit for fitting around a wide variety of metal or plastic pipes and cables.

Application Instructions:
Check:
Access for fitting is available;
Correct area of risk is assessed (double-risk areas may require two collars);
Correct size of collar appropriate to the pipe or service being protected (See also Envirograf® Product 110 for hollow wall fixing).
The product must be installed correctly. Fixing lugs are already fitted to WPCS collars. They can be fixed to solid structures with raw plugs and screws. It is recommended that Envirograf product 58 (intumescent Mastic) is firstly inserted into the previously drilled hole.
For hollow plasterboard walls, fix with screws if there are timber noggins to fix to, otherwise, use steel toggle fixings. If WPCS are to be fitted into an area where no noggins or blockwork are present to attach to, the lugs can be re-attached to another part of the WPCS by drilling 1.5mm holes into the side of the collar and screwing into the collar.
WPCS’s MUST be securely fixed.
