Envirograf Underfloor Fire and Acoustic Barrier: Ultimate Protection and Insulation
Envirograf’s Underfloor Fire Barrier series, featuring the UF60 and UF104 models, sets a new standard in passive fire protection and acoustic insulation for fire protecting the floor in buildings. Meticulously crafted from graphite-impregnated cloth and enclosed within reinforced kraft paper, the UF60 model delivers an impressive 60 minutes of fire and insulation protection. The UF104 variant, enhanced with an internal wire mesh, offers added structural support while maintaining a slender profile of approximately 5mm, pushing the bounds of fire resistance up to 104 minutes under BS476 part 21 (1987) standards.
Designed to enhance the safety and integrity of joisted wooden floors over suspended ceilings, these barriers provide essential insulation and fire protection. Additionally, they significantly bolster the support of wooden flooring systems. The inclusion of a 40mm thick sponge, tailored for placement between joists, addresses both acoustic insulation requirements and compliance with Document E (H in Scotland), ensuring a serene and secure environment.
The barriers come in standard lengths of 1800mm and widths of 400mm, 450mm, 500mm, and 600mm, with custom dimensions available upon request. Their robust yet flexible design allows for easy customization on-site using a sharp knife for precise fits around herring box joints. Installation is facilitated by the provision of 12 long fixing washers, ensuring secure and straightforward application every 300mm along the barrier.
