Protecta Mineral Fibre Bio
Protecta’s FR Backing comes in 25 x 610 x 7200mm boxes.
Its special alkaline earth silicate (AES) fibres have been engineered to offer advantages in high temperature insulation applications.
The mineral wool blankets are lightweight, have low thermal conductivity, low heat storage and excellent resistance to thermal shock.
This Rockwool alternative can be used in many different high temperature applications, such as furnace lining and blast furnace operation.
Regarding fire-stopping applications, it can be easily installed as thermal backing material for fire protection sealants.
Advantages:
- It is easy to install, due to its flexibility
- It can endure high temperatures
- Excellent chemical stability
- Excellent thermal stability
- Excellent tensile strength
- Low thermal conductivity
- Low heat capacity
- Excellent insulation properties
- Good sound insulation
- Flexible and easy to adapt for most applications
- Does not react in contact with other materials
- Fully inert, no dangerous chemicals
- It has an unlimited shelf life if stored above 5°C
