Installation:

To install, simply push fit into place.

Ensure a tight fit is achieved, with 5% compression (approx.)

If air leakage also needs to be prevented, a seal must be achieved with taped joints and intumescent mastic to the linear edges to create a seal.

Clips are needed when installing this product to comply with the requirements of ADB (Approved Document B of the Building regulations in England).

PLEASE CONTACT US TO ENSURE YOU ARE USING THE CORRECT NUMBER OF CLIPS FOR YOUR VOID SIZE.

For horizontal installation, embed the clips to approximately 3/4  barrier width, prior to fitting the barrier. This will ensure that the top leg of the clip is level with the top of the barrier.

Push the barrier into the cavity until the top leg of the clips touches the floor slab and the top surface of the cavity barrier is flush with the slab.

For vertical installation, the clips may have to be fixed to the inner wall before the barrier is installed.

Barriers which must be installed before the outer wall layer may need retaining straps, which prevent them from falling off prior to the wall’s completion.

Butt end joints must be tight.

The ends of adjoining barriers must be fitted in contact for the full barrier width.

Please ensure that if the barrier is installed between two components which might separate in a fire, these components are mechanically linked to ensure separation does not occur.

Installation in Masonry Cavity Walls:

Horizontal Barrier: Bed the fixing clips into the joints in the internal leaf.

Install a damp proof membrane or a cavity tray immediately above, and to the outside of, the fire barrier.
