These Rockwool barriers are used to seal any kind of aperture. They are installed into buildings whilst they are being constructed and permanently locked into place through compression.

One of their other key uses is as a fire break in metal cladding, as well as to protect top flanges of steel beams (RSJs).

They are usually supplied in a trapezoidal shape, although other shapes can be requested (square, rectanglular, circlular or sinusoidal).

AIM Fire Stop Blocks

These Rockwool barriers are used to seal any kind of aperture. They are installed into buildings whilst they are being constructed and permanently locked into place through compression.

One of their other key uses is as a fire break in metal cladding, as well as to protect top flanges of steel beams (RSJs).

They are usually supplied in a trapezoidal shape, although other shapes can be requested (square, rectanglular, circlular or sinusoidal).

Sizing:

Blocks have to be between 75mm and 1200mm long.

They have to be between 10mm and 100mm high.

Widths can be any size, to suit the profile.

 

Fire Performance Data

Concerning reaction to fire testing, it achieves a Euroclass A1 rating.

Concerning fire resistance testing, in masonry to masonry applications, the fire stop blocks offer the following integrity/insulation ratings:

  • 75mm application – 120/60 minutes
  • 100mm application – 120/120 minutes

Applications:

These fire stop blocks can be used in the following scenarios:

  • Composite flooring profiles
  • Dovetail composite flooring profiles
  • Metal decking, roofing & cladding

Other uses may be appropriate, if approved by your building inspector.

Installation:

These blocks must be installed under a minimum of 5% compression.

Push fit the AIM Fire Stop Blocks into place, so that they fit tightly and fully.

Pinch fit the AIM Dovetail Fire Stops into the profile. Afterwards, push fit these rectangular blocks into place.

Acoustic Data:

A minimum amount of 14dB sound reduction is provided by these barriers.

The acoustic performance of the wall and floor systems must also be taken into consideration when assessing room-to-room sound reduction.

  • 75mm long blocks provide 14dB RW
  • 100mm long blocks provide 18dB RW
  • 140mm long blocks provide 23dB RW
