The fire rated Intumescent and Acrylic Sealant by Fire and Acoustic Seals works when subjected to 125+ degrees Celcius heat, by swelling and charring (intumescing) to block the passage of fire and smoke. Once applied, you may paint over it using certain paints. Please check with building regulations whether this paint must be a fire resistant coating. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates.
Can be used in conjunction with the Fire and Acoustic Seals Fire Door Foam.
Uses
Use this fire rated sealant to seal joints which are up to 35mm wide. It can be applied in this setting without slumping.
The main uses are for sealing joints in and around internal partitions, lap joints in fire-rated cladding, plus sealing between fire dors and fire-rated walls.
A minimum of 8mm sealant depth should be applied.
Do not use this product in joists where movement exceeds ± 12.5% of joint width. It cannot also be used in external scenarios.

Apply masking tape to each side of the joint. Use an appropriate gun (either a cartridge or foil gun) to apply the sealant firmlyinto the joint. You should smooth off the product with a wetted spatula.
Remove the masking tape within 10 minutes of application.
Each tube produces approximately 1m of product, when using a 20mm x 15mm bead.
