Envirograf Fire and Smoke Seals

Envirograf intumescent fire and smoke seals are easily installed in new or existing doors.

They are available in brown or white with either a 3mm brush, 5mm brush or 8mm brush. They are ordered in 2.1m lengths (although they may be despatched as half lengths 1050mm x 2 unless whole lengths are specifically requested). These strips simply clip in and out of the groove, making adjustments at the door fitting stage quick and easy.

Fitted with self-adhesive backing to adhere into the rebate.

Both brush and rubber smoke seals are available in a range of colours.

Used for fitting to doors, door frames and windows.

Once fitted, the plastic facing of the seals can be painted, although the smoke seal must not be painted.

Application Instructions of Envirograf Fire and Smoke Seals:

Can be fitted into doors, door frames and windows.

Create a groove in the frame or door to suit the size of the holder, adding 1mm to the width of the holder to allow for shrinkage of timber/paint.

Peel off the seal’s backing paper and fit the seal into the rebate created.

Panel pins can be used for extra security of fixing if required.

Once fitted the plastic facing of the seals can be painted, although the brush or rubber smoke seal must NOT be painted.

Speak to our experts

  • Can intumescent strips be painted over?
You should not paint over intumescent fire and smoke seals, as doing so will permit the passage of smoke.
  • What is the difference between rebated and surface mounted seals?
Rebated seals are hidden in rebates, making them ideal for doors which can be modified which also want to look as unaltered as possible.Surface mounted seals are easier to install and simply fix onto the exterior part of the door. Oftentimes they are more expensive, however, although are appealing due to the quick install time, which could also save you money.
