How do you install Pyroplex Intumescent Fire and Cold Smoke Seals?:

Temperatures should be between 5°C and 40°C

Locate the seal in the central channel of the door leaf or frame.

Create a suitably sized groove to fit your size of intumescent seal.

Ensure that the rebate is clean and free from dust.

Remove the adhesive backing liner from the seal, then push fit it into the groove.

To seal the bottom of the door we suggest using our Surface-Mounted acoustic drop down Seals or Acoustic & Smoke Perimeter Seals.

Please contact us on 01752 690997 or [email protected] for prices on our perimeter seals.

We also sell Envirograf’s fire and smoke seals, both rebated and surface mounted. Please follow the links for more information and/or to order.

Speak to our experts

  • Can intumescent strips be painted over?
You should not paint over intumescent fire and smoke seals, as doing so will permit the passage of smoke.
  • What is the difference between rebated and surface mounted seals?
Rebated seals are hidden in rebates, making them ideal for doors which can be modified which also want to look as unaltered as possible.Surface mounted seals are easier to install and simply fix onto the exterior part of the door. Oftentimes they are more expensive, however, although are appealing due to the quick install time, which could also save you money.
