TIMONOX FLAME RETARDANT COATINGS

Crown Trade Timonox provides a first line defence against the spread of flame on plaster and plasterboard. With over 40 years protecting buildings and extensive testing, it has been proven to be effective.

How do I apply Timonox products?

The whole Timonox range can be applied very easily by brush or roller.

What products do I need?

If your plasterboard is bare, or has up to 2 coats of paint on it, apply the correct quantity of a Timonox finish – see the spreading rates on the product pages.

If your surface has been treated with 3 or more coats of paint, you will need the Timonox Upgrade Basecoat, before applying a Timonox finish.

Please adhere to the correct spreading rates to upgrade your surface to a Class 0 rating.

Timonox Case Study

There was a fire at a UK hospital which resulted in the main corridor to be engulfed in flames in under 5 minutes.

The initial construction of the corridor was made to meet a British Class 0 but after 40 years of paint building up on the walls and ceiling, its fire rating had worsened to a Class 4.

Having tested Timonox on undamaged plasterboard at the same hospital, a Class 1 rating was achieved. Had this paint been applied at the hospital before the fire, it would have taken far more time for the fire to reach the corridor.
