Our intumescent and fire retardant paints for plasterboard come as standard in white.
Within our current range, we supply Envirograf’s EP/CP coating, which has been tested with regards to protection time ratings. We also supply Timonox paints – part of the Crown Trade range. These paints have been tested to the surface spread of flame ratings.
EP/CP can be overcoated with a tinted topcoat, if a decorative coloured finish is required. Topcoats can be tinted to most RAL and BS colour codes. Please contact us if you require a tinted topcoat.
All of the Timonox finishes come in many different shades. Please follow these links for a full list of shades per finish type:
Acrylic Eggshell | Vinyl Matt | Scrubbable Matt.

About fire ratings
When it comes to fire ratings on plasterboard, there are two types:
- Protection time (also known as structural integrity ratings)
- Fire retardancy (also known as surface spread of flame)
These both measure different aspects.
Protection times denote the time it takes for the fire to make the structural integrity of the substrate to fail.
Fire retardancy ratings, on the other hand, measure how quickly flames travel across a surface.
In different situations, building inspectors may specify different ratings. If you know your required fire rating, we can specify you the correct products to achieve it. Our experts have an in-depth knowledge of our products’ fire testing parameters.
